Fire protection coatings are an essential component of passive structural fire protection. They enable even filigree steel constructions to remain permanently visible as an architectural design element. Our development work focusses on the environmental compatibility and sustainability of the water-based and and sustainability of the water-based and maintenance-free systems in our Green Product line. They fulfil the requirements LEED or LEED v4 requirements, are AgBB-tested, categorised in VOC emission class A+, have an Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) Type III and are registered in the DGNB Navigator. We were the first manufacturer of fire protection coatings to provide official proof in accordance with the European assessment procedure for an extension of the service life to 25 years in dry interior areas (Z2). The steel fire protection coatings HENSOTHERM® 421 KS and HENSOTHERM® 920 KS are the first 1C and 2C steel fire protection systems with and without topcoat have a service life of more than 25 years in accordance with the current ETAs and aBGs. Furthermore, HENSOTHERM® 421 KS is the only steel fire protection system on the market that can be used with an aBG on tension-loaded components and in trusses. Our broad product range offers intumescent and ablative systems of fire protection coatings for steel, wood, concrete and cables, as well as for the production of penetration seals and fire-resistant wall and floor joints.
