Success is not a matter of chance.

Success is always the result of a combination of energy and strategy. It is a fundamental human need to consume as little energy as possible. It's entirely clear: Strategy saves energy – always! Obtaining the strategies that are so important, especially in craftsmanship, is extremely crucial for economic success. Many craft businesses operate far below their actual potential on a daily basis. Due to usually weak staffing, entrepreneurial tasks are often put on the back burner and inadequately addressed. The Edle Räume Campus provides craftsmen with the opportunity to further educate themselves. The potential lying dormant in many businesses can be seen from the following statistics. SMEs (small and medium-sized enterprises) represent the most widespread business size. Unfortunately, however, too little revenue is often generated here.

Regarding SMEs (small and medium-sized enterprises), we distinguish between:

Micro-enterprises (up to 9 employees and up to 2 million euros in revenue), small enterprises (up to 49 employees and up to 10 million euros in revenue, excluding micro-enterprises), and medium-sized enterprises (up to 249 employees and up to 50 million euros in revenue, excluding small enterprises).

In 2020, almost 2.5 million companies, the vast majority (99.4%), were small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) across all sectors in Germany.

2.5 million small and medium-sized enterprises accounted for 55% of employed persons and 42% of gross value added.

Small and medium-sized enterprises generated around 77% of the revenue in the construction industry and employed 88% of those working in the sector. (Source: Federal Statistical Office 2022 (Destatis))

It is more than regrettable that statistically, the majority of micro-enterprises (up to 9 employees) do not even generate one million euros in revenue per year. The situation becomes even more memorable when we look at the revenue per capita of companies. On average, in the construction sector, a revenue of €85,700 per employee per year is generated. Calculated on a monthly basis, this is just under €7,200.

With 20 working days, this equates to a daily revenue of €360!

And this is happening amidst constantly rising costs in all areas.

This cannot be good. This equates to just €45 per hour of work! Realistically, a painting company in the crafts sector needs €80 per hour to operate properly and sustainably. To find joy in work and to achieve a stable financial foundation.

The challenges in an ever-changing market are significant. Only those who acquire the necessary knowledge will become successful and lead a self-determined life.

At the Edle Räume Campus, we offer seminars on important topics related to craftsmanship, and within the Edle Räume Network, we provide continuous support to members regarding both entrepreneurial and application-related questions. The latter, of course, within the framework of the MATEREA material brand.
